CURARE

Ongoing digital photography series, 2023 - present.

This project explores urban silence as a state of inner calm within the intensity of city life. Through photographs of construction sites and the fabric screens that veil them, Alexandre Liberato observes the city as a living organism in constant transformation. These temporary surfaces—creased, stretched, and weathered by time—reveal a quiet beauty in their folds, textures, and vast expanses of fabric.

In this meditative gaze, the ordinary becomes charged with a predisposition toward the sublime. The screens, meant to conceal, instead invite contemplation; they hold traces of the invisible labour of care that sustains the urban fabric. Here, silence is not the absence of sound but a heightened awareness—a stillness that allows us to perceive the city’s ongoing renewal as an act of both construction and healing.
